Meet Our Governors

Local Governing Body of Woolmer Hill

The Governing Body is made up of members of the local community; there are parent, staff and co-opted (community) governors. We are volunteers who work together to further the development of Woolmer Hill.

Together with the Headteacher we consider and make decisions regarding the strategic direction of the school, dealing with such things as school policies and the school development plan, we monitor and evaluate school performance and we ensure accountability.

The LGB operates under the WMAT's 4S+ framework which provides a clear, structured and practical approach to governance, ensuring that governors maintain strategic oversight of the areas that have the greatest influence on learners’ outcomes, safety, wellbeing and overall experience. The focus areas below reflect the core responsibilities of governance and align directly with statutory expectations, inspection frameworks and the principles of high-quality oversight.

Standards - ensures that the quality of education is ambitious, coherent and improving.
Safeguarding - ensures that learners are safe, protected and supported within a strong culture of vigilance.
SEND - ensures that inclusion is lived in practice, statutory duties are met and learners with additional needs achieve well.
Stakeholders - ensures that the voices of parents, learners, staff and the wider community are heard, valued and used to shape improvement.
Finance - ensures that public money is used properly, efficiently and in line with the Academy Trust Handbook.
