19/12/2024Thank you to everyone that supported our Christmas Concert last night, it was a marvellously festive occasion showcasing some of our very talented students and staff.
We’re sure you don’t need reminding but tomorrow is the final day of term and school finishes at 12.55pm.
We wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a restful and very happy Christmas and we look forward to welcoming students back into school on Tuesday 7th January.
Happy holidays!
16/12/2024Our year group Christmas lunches kicked off today with Year 7! They enjoyed the traditional turkey roast with their tutor group, pulled crackers, wore the hats, told the jokes, listened to the festive tunes and generally celebrated the end (nearly!) of their first term at Woolmer Hill.
🎄🎄🎄
16/12/2024An enormous thank you to all the students, parents and staff that donated to our Christmas Shoe Box appeal! We have managed to fill over 85 shoe boxes with Christmas goodies and gifts and on top of that 2 enormous crates of donations for the foodbank. Your generosity will bring smiles to many faces this Christmas, thank you!

13/12/2024The Art department have been working on a wonderful community project in collaboration with the residents of the Chestnut View Care Home.
At the heart of the project was the desire to bring together generations and to enable the students to learn about a life they haven't known; a life before disposables and convenience.
The care home residents were asked to write stories about what life was like before plastic; stories of childhood, the second world war, making, mending and cooking. An afternoon was spent at the care home hearing the residents recount these tales to the students whilst they created illustrations to accompany them.
These illustrations were then turned into ceramic relief tiles; ‘relief’ being sculpture on a flat surface. The Pottery Club then welcomed the residents in to school, to help with glazing the illustrated tiles that reflected their memories. It was a wonderfully creative afternoon of collaborative work and it was a joy to see these generations forming such a creative relationship.
So far the residents and WH students have created a beautiful story board, using the relief tiles, of the memories of what life was like before plastic. We are very proud of our community connections and in due course, we will be adding the written stories to the tiles and this fantastic piece of living history will be displayed in Haslemere for the whole community to appreciate and enjoy.

12/12/2024Next Friday, 20th December and the last day of term, we will be supporting the charity ‘Save the Children’ by inviting students and staff to come to school in mufti with a touch of Christmas! So dig out the festive knitwear, the Santa hats or the Christmas hair ribbons ready to wear next week.
In exchange for wearing home clothes, we are asking for a donation to this worthy cause of £2, to be collected on the school gate on Friday morning…please bring cash!
